Current robotic vacuum cleaners on the market produced by irobot and electrolux can cost up to 1700. The idea is inspired by the famous vacuum cleaner robot roomba which is shown in the image below. Our project was inspired by an existing robotic vacuum cleaner the roomba. The system uses ultrasonic sensors for boundary sensing and operates accordingly in order to cover entire room.

This progress report describes the early stages of the development of a vacuum cleaner robot prototype both on hardware and software point of view.
